On-grid Inverter

What are the requirements for the inverter installation environment?

1)The installation carrier is sturdy and can bear the weight of the inverter for a long time.

2)It is recommended that the installation ambient temperature be lower than 50°C and the ventilation should be good.

3)In order to ensure the best operation, it is necessary to avoid direct sunlight, rain and snow.

4)During operation, the case temperature will be relatively high, please do not install the inverter in a place where it is easy to touch.

5)The space around the inverter must meet the installation, maintenance and heat dissipation requirements.

What are the requirements for machine installation?
Vertical installation/ Do not allow lying down/ Leaning back and inversion
How to prevent incorrect or misconnected DC cables from being crimped?

1)Do a good job of line marking to reduce the probability of errors

Energy Storage System

How to choose EPS mode?

There are 4 types of EPS modes, they are:
0 – Disable
1 – EPS without bypass:only in the case of power failure, EPS port will have voltage output (basically no standby power consumption)
2 – EPS with bypass:When there is power grid, EPS port will also have voltage output, and when power failure, EPS port voltage will need about 2s for output switch (low power standby power consumption).
3 – UPS with bypass:EPS port also has voltage output when there is power grid, and UPS mode output when power failure, EPS port voltage needs <20ms time for switching (high power standby power consumption)

What is needed to pay attention to for the first installation?

After the battery is installed for the first time, you are advised to charge the battery forcibly (for calibration Battery).

EV charger

Smart Solar EV Charger

1)When the charger is connected to the power line, the front end must be forcibly connected to a Type A/30mA RCBO.

2)The default Bluetooth name of the charger is AC – {SN last 8 digits}, and the default password is 111111.

3)Installation environment Requirements
-The installation position of charger shall not be close to dangerous positions such as water pipe, gas pipe and steam pipe.
-The charger shall not be installed in places with severe vibration or high temperature.
-The installation position of charger should not be set in low-lying places where it is easy to accumulate water or drip.
-It is recommended that the charger be installed in an environment with sunshade or umbrella.
-A certain space shall be reserved for the installation of charger to facilitate the inspection and maintenance of technicians.

*Including but not limited to the above.

4)The length of the vehicle connector is 5m by default, which can meet the daily charging use. Special length requirements can be customized.

FAQ

Dear Livoltek users or installers, here you will find our most frequently asked questions and their
answers, which we have grouped together in order to help you solve your problems quickly.

Grid - Tied Inverter

My router is 5GHz. Can I use it to connect the inverter to my Wi-Fi?

No, currently Wi-Fi dongle can only connect 2.4GHz networks.

How can I limit the power feed to the grid?

A smart meter is required and please set the value of limit in the app Settings – Feed in Limitation.

My inverter had an alarm saying "PV over current", what should I do?

Solar panel power cannot be more than 150% of inverter rated power. For example, a 6KW on grid inverter can connect 9KW solar panels at maximum.  Therefore, please check whether solar panels are over installed.

Or please install 9KW solar panels on two MPPTs instead of one MPPT

Why is the LED not lit up?

The LED is lit up when DC voltage reaches start-up DC input voltage. The start up voltage varies depending on the power of the inverter.

OFF - Grid Inverter

What batteries can be used ?

Livoltek off grid inverter is compatible with Livoltek Li-ion battery, Pylontech 48V with CAN communication and 48V lead-acid battery.

How can we upgrade firmware for off-grid inverters?

There are four ways to upgrade.

  1. Upgrade from the app after connecting the inverter with smart phone bluetooth.
  2. Upgrade by U disk.
  3. Upgrade from LCD screen.
  4. Upgrade from Livoltek platform when the inverter is online.
How many work modes are there for Livoltek off-grid inverters, and which one should I choose?

There are backup mode, economic mode and off-grid mode.

Backup mode is advisable for users who live in an area where power outages happen frequently.

Economic mode is advisable for users who have solar panels and the electricity is expensive.

Off grid mode is for no grid area users. This mode does not need to be set from the App.

Why is there no power that goes to EPS appliances?

Please turn on the ON/OFF switch at the bottom of the off grid. If it is turned on, please connect off grid with bluetooth and check what fault is happening or contact Livoltek technical support.

Do I need to set parameters for batteries?

Lithium batteries do not need to set parameters because the inverter can communicate with BMS. However, for lead-acid batteries or lithium batteries with no BMS, parameters need to be set.

There is a beep when the grid is out of power.

The beep sound can be turned off from App at Settings-Basic settings-EPS setup-Beep on EPS.

Can I connect multiple off-grid inverters in parallel?

Currently, Livoltek single phase off grid inverters can be paralleled to a maximum of 3 inverters.

Can the off-grid inverters work under no battery connected?

Yes, Livoltek off-grid inverter can work without battery connected. Please note this does not work when multiple off grid inverters are paralleled.

Hybrid Inverter

How many solar panels can I install at maximum?

150% of rated power. For example, a 5KW hybrid inverter can connect 7.5KW solar panels at maximum.

Where should the CT arrow point to?

Please point the arrow to the inverter side.

Is an external breaker required for battery?

As long as the battery is Livoltek lithium battery, an external breaker is not required.

My router is 5GHz. Can I use it to connect the inverter to my Wi-Fi?

No, currently Wi-Fi dongle can only connect 2.4GHz networks.

I can not find Hyper series inverters in Product Type when trying to add a device to a site.

Please check whether the System Type of the site is Residential solar energy storage (ess) or not. If not, delete the site and create a new one and select Residential solar energy storage (ess) for System Type.

Which mode should I choose for inverter?

Self-use mode: Solar panels are installed with sufficient power for household appliances and extra power feed batteries.

Back-up mode: Loadshedding happens frequently, needs batteries to feed appliances, especially after sunset.

What does Discharge End SOC@Grid and SOC@EPS mean?

Discharge End SOC@Grid: this value works as a threshold to stop battery discharging when there is power coming from the grid.

Discharge End SOC@EPS: this value works as a threshold to stop battery discharging when there is no power coming from the grid.

Can I set a timer for battery charging?

Yes, please open My Livoltek app, go to Setting, choose Basic Settings, in Work Mode select Self-Define and add timers. Users can use this mode to avoid charging at peak electricity prices.

Can the inverter work under no battery connected?

Yes, Livoltek hybrid inverter can work without battery connected.

When there is power from the grid, why does EPS loads not have power?

Please open My Livoltek app, go to Setting tabs, choose Basic Settings and select UPS at EPS mode.

Low Voltage Battery

Do I need to add a fuse to the battery?
It is not required. Because we have a DC isolator already added on the battery side.
What is the current of the DC isolator on the battery?
It is 125A, 1.25 times rated power of battery.
How long does the battery's cycle life?
6000 Cycles. (Test conditions: 0.2C Charging/Discharging, @25°C, 80% DoD, 60% EOL)
